Conquer gravel, streams, mud, snow, sand, and even go up and down stairs with the powerful Tank Chair.  This unique wheelchair can take you just about anywhere with an incline ability of up to 45 degrees and also quite the conversation piece.

Tank chair was created by Brad Soden for his wife Liz after a camping trip where Liz was unable to see a herd of elk wandering through the woods.  They had to stop and free her power chair from the mud so often that the elk had wandered away.  This frustrated Liz, feeling helpless, and Brad felt compelled to act.

“I wanted her to have no obstacles,” he said, “we look at it as just ’cause you’re disabled doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time.”

It took 2 years and numerous failed attempts including pneumatic tires, bigger wheels, stronger motors, and even a jet ski/snowmobile with wheels.  While complaining to his father-in-law in the garage one day, the father suggested “Wouldn’t it be neat if you could put some tracks on it?  Like a tank?”

They found the tank tracks online, and tank chair was soon born.

Liz is now more than capable of traveling just about anywhere she likes outdoors now.

Since then, Brad has started creating Tank Chairs for other people as well and even has a new model now that includes a lower center of gravity, more torque, stronger chasis, and improved incline/decline angles.  For more information about this cutting edge outdoor wheelchair, visit www.tankchair.com/default.htm

Your wife is very blessed to have you and her father put so much into creating this awesome mchine. Wish I had/could afford one. But how do you transport it? I’m sure it wouldn’t fit on the lift on the side of my van, much less go through the doorway or even fit inside. Guess you have a special trailer for it. Again, she is blessed. What does the lettering on the front spell?
