Students at the University of Chicago have launched a new online magazine called Collective Voices to tackle disability issues. The magazine will contain all original content, with essays, art, and poetry that is intended to push the boundaries of traditional disability information.

Collective Voices will be published bi-monthly, and each issue will have a theme. The students are encouraging submissions from all readers, and each issue will also feature some type of contest to encourage participation. “OMG Zombiez” is the current theme, which features articles applying disability ideas to the zombie population. Though it is not meant to be serious, it is interesting to read the students’ ideas on how zombies would be oppressed in our world. “Wanderlust” is December’s theme, and the students are also holding a photo contest for the issue.

The magazine can be found at http://collective-voices.blogspot.com.
