AMS Conversion Warranty Information

AMS wheelchair van conversions do not void the original warranties on the unmodified OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. The AMS handicap van conversion warranty is separate from the vehicle's warranty.

Conversion Warranty

New AMS Ramp Conversion: 3 year/ 36,000 mile ramp warranty

Used AMS Ramp Conversion: Any remaining on the 3 year/36,000 mile ramp warranty

Adaptive Mobility Systems agrees to replace or repair any AMS modified ramp conversion part that we find to be defective within the applicable warranty period of 3 years or 36,000 miles. If it is determined that warranty work is needed, AMS will set up an appointment with a certified mechanic or service center within your zip code or city to repair or service your wheelchair ramp or conversion.

New AMS Floor System: 5 year/ 50,000 mile lowered floor warranty

Used AMS Floor System: Any remaining on the 5 year/50,000 mile lowered floor warranty

Adaptive Mobility Systems warrants that the structural metal fabrication that has been performed on the newly installed floor pan unit will not fail due to rust or corrosion for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first), from date of purchase.

In addition, AMS will pay for the warranty work at the time of repair and does not require customers to pre-pay any approved warranty work. AMS will handle all of that for you. Please note that any conversion work done under warranty will only be paid for if completed by Adaptive Mobility Systems or a service center shop of their choosing, so be sure to call us first at 1(888)860-2473 before taking your conversion van for any warranty work.

Warranty Information

Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. Limited Conversion Warranty

Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. warrants that the structural metal fabrication that we have done on the newly installed floor pan unit will not fail due to rust or corrosion (see: Warranty Condition) for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date of initial purchase from Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. All other added, or substantially modified parts from the conversion are warranted for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. agrees to replace or repair any part which we find to be defective within the applicable warranty period or mileage. Any work done under warranty will only be paid for if done by Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. or other Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. approved mechanic. (See: Warranty Procedure)

What Is Not Covered

This warranty shall not apply to parts or workmanship that may become defective due to misuse, neglect, improper maintenance, abuse, accident, or unauthorized repairs. This warranty is not intended to cover any part not modified in the AMS conversion process, any defect or problem that existed in the vehicle prior to conversion, or anything that was covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty including but not limited to: vehicle frame, engine, transmission, transaxle, restraint systems including seat belts and air bags, brakes, battery, heating systems, air conditioner, tires, ignition systems, electronics, and computer systems. This warranty is not intended to replace or substitute any other warranty issued by the original manufacturer of the vehicle which has been modified. Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from any defective part or workmanship. Without limitation, Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. will not be liable for expenses incurred for towing, travel, lodging, meals, vehicle rental, lost wages, or any other expense or inconvenience incurred as a result of loss of use of the vehicle in question or for any other reason. This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or other warranty quality, whether expressed or implied, and of all other liabilities and obligations on the part of Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc.

For added safety, our ramp systems have a manual override in the rare event of a battery failure, so this should help you should never be stranded inside or outside of your vehicle due to the ramp.

Warranty Condition

If the van is to be used in heavy snow areas where salt and sand are used on the roads, we strongly suggest you have your van additionally undercoated with a heavy Ziebart® or equivalent product and inspected annually as a condition of your conversion warranty.

Warranty Procedure

If a warranty claim arises, please follow this process to ensure a fast and accurate resolution to your claim:

• Call the Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. warranty department at 1(888)860-2473 and provide the following information:
  • your name and phone number
  • vehicle identification number
  • mileage
  • a description of the problem
• Once your warranty status is verified, a local approved repair facility will be recommended and contacted. Once warranty work has been completed, we will pay the repair shop directly so you do not have to wait to receive reimbursement. We cannot guarantee payment on any warranty work done without contacting us first. We do allow individuals to work on the van or ramp themselves when desired, but you must contact us prior to working on the vehicle for it to be guaranteed under the warranty guidelines.
• Bring the vehicle to the approved facility for service. Simple!

Used Wheelchair Vans Not Manufactured by AMS
