Sunday is for planning your week: Check out your calendar on Sunday, scoping for an idea on what’s coming up, what appointments you have to show up to, what events you need to attend and be front and center at for your kids, what days you need to pack lunches and what days you can plan to rest. Give yourself a heads up on what’s coming so that you can eliminate as many surprises as possible!
Sunday is for meal planning: Hate how you always find yourself asking, “What should be for dinner tonight?” Well think ahead! Make a list on Sunday of all the meals that you can prepare for the week (and all the opportunities to eat left overs). Once you come up with a plan for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the upcoming week, you eliminate any stress that comes with not knowing what you are going to do at the end of a long day for dinner or food the next day!
Sunday is for grocery shopping + meal prep: Now that you’ve got your meal plan figured out for the week, it’s time to shop! One thing I’ve found myself doing on Sundays now is cooking meals for the week! With one shopping trip on Sunday, you can buy everything you need for the whole week, and cook half of it that night! That way, when you come home after a long day, it’s as easy as warming something up on the stove to serve to the family! This opens your nights up to get breakfast and lunch ready for the next day! Get ahead of the scrambling and stress!!
Sunday is for cleaning + laundry: Nothing can bring a damper on your week quite like having laundry to do can. Make sure you don’t run out of anything half way through the week by just doing large loads of laundry throughout your day Sunday! Tidy up and reorganize around the house so that you feel better when you can rest in a clean house. Remember, organization and cleanliness is a good way to beat depression and anxiety!
Sunday is for outfit planning: Give yourself a buffer in the morning! Let’s be honest, ladies– half of our morning routines when it comes to getting ready for the day involved picking out what we’re going to wear! Maybe we’d get a little more sleep if we already knew what we were going to wear every day! So go ahead and pick your clothes out on Sunday. Organize your outfits together in your closet or go ahead and lay them out so you don’t have to stress about it the morning of!
Sunday is for cleaning your purse out: The parent life can look a lot like a tornado struck inside a purse or backpack after a long week. Candy, snacks, lose change, make-up, papers, etc. can end up jumbled around, cluttering up your bag and your life. So take the time Sunday to clean it up and do away with things you don’t need!
Sunday is for paperwork: Go through your mail and notices and check to see what appointments or events you need to mark down on the calendar for the upcoming weeks. Don’t get caught off guard by a bill you forgot to pay or a day you were supposed to bring snacks to class for everyone!
