Thanks for following up. We like the new van our second from AMS although some of us miss the sun roof on the old AMS van that we traded in!
We have found AMS to be easy to deal with and would recommend you to others. One advantage of trading back to AMS was that we never had a day without a van which was nice. With two young children one handicap, this van is on the move every day.
Anyway, all in all we are happy with the van and your conversion. We would be happy to be a reference for others.
We were also pleased to see that second van on the trailer, which was being delivered to another customer, as it was a rear entry that we were considering but didn't feel we knew enough about. Maybe next time we will go with the rear entry which may be better for us in some ways.

All is well here. The van arrived as promised and I was very pleased. It was everything I hoped for and more! Everyone that sees it thinks that I bought it new from the showroom floor! It looks that great! A few days after the van arrived Dustin had a doctor's appointment in Monroe, about 60 miles north of us. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to NOT have him transfer in and out of the car and break down the wheelchair numerous times!! In the times before the van, we would go straight to the doctor and come straight home due to the hassels of loadingunloading etc. This trip though, we went to the doctor, stopped at a music store for a quick guitar repair, went to the mall for a haircut and some shopping, then to the airport to meet family that was flying in from Los Angeles. Let me tell you, that is THE MOST Dustin has done in one day since his accident 3 YEARS ago!! He enjoyed every minute of it! I THANK YOU so much for all your help in getting the van for us. I would certainly recommend AMS Vans to anyone out there looking to purchase one.
Sorry that I took so long to answer this email, but I have been swamped with life. However My life has been changed so much by my newused van, that I do not know where to start.
First, weather permitting, we are out almost everyday for a small ride -- less than 2 miles round trip. My father and mother would be in a nursing home if they did not live with me. When they first came, I could transfer my father from a wheelchair to the car by myself. As his condition declined, I could no longer do that safely, even with the assistance of my children. He became housebound except for doctor's appointments when I would hire an ambulette. Emotionally, this was taking a toll on him. Ever since I purchased the van, I get home from work and if he wants to - out we go - no problems. I have given him back an independence that he needed - the ability to leave my house safely. I can get him into his wheelchair, to the van and back to the house by myself. We just go for a short ride or stop at a convenience store. It sounded like an extravagance at first but his emotional state has improved so much that I wish that I had thought of purchasing a van sooner. Even his doctor visits have become so much easier.
We have much more independence. I got him and my mother to a football game and I am hoping for the spring to attend many more of my children's events with them. This would not have been possible without your sales assistance.
So, to answer some technical questions -
1. I found out about you by searching the web.
2. Registering the car in another state was not difficult.
3. The garage that I took my van to for an inspection was very impressed with the conversion.
4. Yes, I was nervous about buying a huge expense over the internet, but you made it so easy and the
product has proven to be so reliable that I am pleasantly relieved.
5. The testimonial that got to me was the one about the man who used the van every weekend to pick up his
grandfather at the nursing home and bring him to his house for the weekend. The mention was something
about improving his quality of life for his last 8 months of life. That testimonial assured me that
what I was doing was right - the expense would justify the results.
6. My parents would be in a nursing home if they did not live with me and the only part of their care that
I was missing was transportation. Now I have it.
7. Yes, I have only put on about 150 miles, but it has been a "blessed" 150 miles - my mom is the copilot and
I put my dad in the middle so that he can see straight out between the driver's seat and my mom's seat.
8. Thank you ever so much for the service that you provide.
Buying a new vehicle is a huge deal anyway, but buying an accessible van is a super-huge deal. AMS Vans has blown me away with their customer service, even returning to my home to pick up my new van, take it back and install the EZ-Lock dock when I decided I needed it after all, and then delivered it back to my home. I have had my new van, which I have named "Scarlett" ha, I AM a native Georgia girl after all!, for almost a month, and she's already taken a group of me and my friends, who are missionaries, to the observation tower at the tiptop of Brasstown Bald, the highest peak in Georgia. We were all so thrilled with the quality. Everyone who has been familiar with my poor older van knows how blessed I was to have it, but how hard it had become to plan any trips of a decent distance. Even great things have to be retired sometime, right? I couldn't be happier with my replacement purchase and expect years of amazing service. AMS Vans offers a stellar customer experience from first inquiry and onward.
Testimonial | Review - Handicap Van Buyer Kevin D Is Happy with His New Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Purchased Online
Buying my van from AMS was easy.
Diana was only a phone call away throughout the entire process and went over and above what you would normally expect from a salesperson. Her recommendation for financing provided a competitive rate, the van was as advertised and runs great, and the work for the conversion was exceptional. I wish my family would have known about these conversions before we bought our first van. I am proud to show off this van to my friends and family and would be happy to show this van to anyone in the central Maryland area who would be interested in seeing the work AMS does. Buying online was easy and I would not hesitate to buy another conversion from AMS should I need another van in the future.
